Chapter 31
Melanie's eyes looked red and pale, she could feel a slight lightness on her head like one who was having a hangover even though she had no alcohol in her body system.
She sat up on the bed rubbing her eyes for a couple of seconds, the knocks continued making it impossible for her to neglect.
Melanie tried to stand, struggling to lift her feet and get them into her pair of slippers which was lying carelessly close to the bed, but she staggered and fell back on the bed. She took a deep sigh knowing her nerves are failing her, who wouldn't feel so exhausted after having such a long day? Her eyes were still slightly open and her vision pretty blur. The knocks didn't stop, she scoffed in despair feeling totally disturbed by the constant noises coming down stairs.

Melanie walked into the room wearing a straight face, Charles followed behind almost counting his steps.
