76: False Allegation

"Heh, you thought being me out of the country would put a lit on your sins?" Mrs Saltzman's voice was cold and Mr Saltzman broke out in a cold sweat.

And to think she lived a whole decade with a despicable man like this who had been hiding his true self just to get his hands on her money.

How did she not see his true face under that dotting flattery mask all these years?

"Honey, let me explain... It's really nothing. This woman was seducing me and kept telling me to leave you, but I refused her. I did nothing wrong. These are all false allegations. Please, believe me." Mr Slatzman's voice was persuading. However, his voice lacked sincerity.

If it were the past, Mrs Saltzman would have been convinced by his words and instead would wrongly find faults in others.

Mrs Saltzman glanced at the frightened girl who was trembling like a child who had been surrounded by dangerous criminals. As if on instinct, the girl made eye contact with her and pleaded with her eyes silently.
