Mary woke up from the sound of the beeping machine and the smell of disinfectant. As she opened her eyes, what she first saw is the white ceiling with a bright light making her eyes hurt a little.

She tried to move her hands but it was a bit hard for them to move. She weakly moved her eyes to the side and saw Manager Kim silently peeling an apple on the table. “Manager Kim” she weakly said.

Her voice sounded so small and so weak. Manager Kim raised her head and saw that Mary had opened her eyes. “You are awake, finally. What do you need? Are you thirsty? Do you want some water?”
