Something in The Past

Little Claire nodded as she stepped her little feet towards her room which was on the top floor of her house. From the stairs she saw her mother standing with a sigh, she looked nervous.

"Elena!" shouted the man again, shocking both Elena and Claire.

Claire didn't like the stranger. He came a few months ago, but he was rude. Even though her mother was always hiding it, but Claire often heard arguments. Claire often heard the sound of her mother being hit, squealing in pain, then her body parts turned blue with bruises.

After Claire's father died, Elena had a hard time raising Claire alone. She has to work and also find a nanny to look after Claire while she is away for work. Claire still remembered her mother coming home from work with tears in her eyes, saying everything will be all right. Claire found out later that her mother had been fired. There was too much for Elena to do alone, she was tired, she couldn't do well in work, that's why she was fired.
