“What was I supposed to tell her?” Lewis asked Troy as they walked toward their apartment after work that day.

“How about no?” Troy asked, shaking his head. “Did that ever cross your mind?”

“Come on, dude!” Lewis said. “Would you say no to her? You are the one dating her, after all.”

The smile vanished from Troy’s face as he nodded and said, “Yeah, that might make things a little awkward around the place when she comes over.”

“That’s what I’m afraid of!” Lewis said, frowning. “Plus, she’s a friend of Kendall’s, and I don’t want to cause any bad feelings there, either.”

“How are things going between you and Kendall?” Troy asked.

Lewis grinned at his friend and said, “Looks like we’re going out again this weekend.”

“Good for you, man,” Troy said, holding his hand up for a high five. “I’m happy for you. You deserve it.”
