Chapter 47

Zach's PoV

The wait is finally over, the gang and I are currently in Brookdale's lobby waiting on Detective Barnes. He called me thirty minutes ago, telling me to get here ASAP.

Kyle glances at his phone for the umpteenth time, then shoves his hand into his pocket. "What's taking him so long?"He hisses loudly.

Connor snickers, "Don't get your panties in a bunch now bro."

Kyle glares at him then rolls his eyes. "The only thing I wonna twist is her hair around my hand while Laura here, whoops her ass."

We chuckle at Kyle's uncouth behaviour while Laura throws air punches. "Damn straight, I'm gonna knock her ass out!"

Moments later, Oraine enters and beckons for us to follow him. The four of us rush towards him like our lives depended on it. "It took some time but we finally did it." He gloats as he presses the call button for the elevator.

I sigh, "I just want this to be over so I can put it all behind me."

He nods in understanding, "No worries, we're one step closer today."
