Emily waltzed confidently into the meeting room. Who said her heart was delicate? She was still heartbroken. She didn't want to show much of what she was feeling now, except for Shila.

Even when in the meeting room, her eyes met Charles' disappointed eyes; Emily tried to ease the turmoil of her own heart.

She would explain everything to Charles later. She didn't want herself to be the scapegoat for the feud between Charles and the con man who had taken advantage of her fragility to bring her down.

What happened between her and Jeffry had nothing to do with Charles. And Emily would not accept if Jeffry involved her in this situation.

The meeting was just about to start, and one figure who had become Emily's enemy from now on was present and got a seat right next to her. The woman was reluctant, even looking the other way without caring that Jeffry was hoping to have a little talk with her and explain everything.
