As I expected, my parents were incredibly sweet to Ricardo. They treated him like a son, and I wouldn't expect anything less from them. They know how responsible I am with my actions—I never do anything without thinking it through and being certain of what I'm doing.

What surprised them, though, was when I mentioned that I was thinking about moving to São Paulo. Despite that, they accepted my decision well.

Now I'm packing a small suitcase for a few days because I won't stay there for long. I'm going with a little fear of what awaits me. I don't know how I'll be received. Even though Ricardo tells me everything will be fine, I'm scared. Will my in-laws like me? Several questions linger in my mind, and that familiar anxiety and anticipation start to creep in.
