Chapter 53 Part II – Loose Ends

"What loose ends do you mean?"

Leo walked farther away from the others and I followed. This was not the first secret side mission that the Director had given us. Who knows, maybe Jaguar was also on a secret side-mission too so he let himself be captured. At this point, I don't even know.

She spoke after sighing, "The Director had to make sure Hawk is not making allies outside of the FBI. He's grown wary for some reason, and thus, here I am checking if she's made connections in the Agnello mafia."

"Why is she not allowed to make allies outside the FBI?" I curiously pried.

"Because those allies are not to be trusted, Fox. They can betray you anytime and if Hawk depends on them too much, it will also endanger the mission."

I turned quietly to ponder over what she said. It sounded correct but at the same time incorrect.
