— You’ve been living on the streets this whole time? – he seemed stunned by this information.

— I didn’t have many options – I replied – Gonzalo is certainly monitoring my every step.

— And you believed that staying on the street would help? – Gomez kept dragging the subject out, as if sleeping on the streets had been a near-fatal mistake.

— It’s only been two days – I justified.

— Two days that could have cost your life. – He took a notepad out of a suitcase. – You are the son of the richest man in Rio de Janeiro. What did you expect?

I hadn’t thought about it that way. My only concern during those days was not being found by my father, while risking being found by far worse people.
