Clarice knew Edward was here and fought with all her might, but the more she panicked, the less Nicholas wanted to let her go. A pair of large hands held her in his embrace, his lips pressed against hers. Clarice wanted to scream, but her lips were sealed; she couldn't make a sound and immediately broke into a sweat.

There were three knocks on the door, probably because no one answered, so Edward made his own move and opened the office door. What caught his attention were two people fighting on the couch. The moment Clarice saw Edward's figure entering through the door, she bit Nicholas's lips hard.

The moment Nicholas saw the door, he immediately let her go. Clarice bit him. His expression showed pain, but his face revealed a smile. Edward's face turned pale. He took a few steps and ran directly to the side of the sofa, then reached out and pulled Clarice from his embrace, looking coldly at Nicholas.
