Chapter 113 : Unfinished work

Running along the shore, his feet carried him farther and farther down the sea. Flashes of her face flooded his mind, causing him to speed up, the memories overwhelming him.

Suddenly, he stopped and screamed at the sea.

"Whyyyyyyyyyy!" he bellowed, his fists clenched at his sides.

"Whyyyyy!" he cried out again, his voice echoing in the waves. His body slumped as his legs gave out, collapsing onto the sand. He sat there, head in his hands, his body shaking with sobs. "How could they do this to me?" he whispered. "She made a fool out of me. Why did she keep it a secret?" His cries echoed across the waves.

With tears streaming down his face, he thought of her. "I was so dumb. Why, why, why," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "How could I have been so blind?" he lamented, beating his chest as he sobbed.

"Where is my grandson?" Grandma Leta asked as she quickly rushed out, not seeing him in the yard.

"He ran out this morning," Aditi said as she approached he
