Chapter 13 : Triumph of the Broken

"One, two, three, move! Position her well," one nurse said, fixing and plugging the tubes into the troll bed for the transfer.

Richard stood outside the room where the noise was coming from, trying to see who it was when they pushed the troll bed out of the room in front of him.

"Who is that?" he asked when they passed in front of him. He couldn't see who it was on the bed they were pushing out, due to the number of nurses around it, some holding the tubes connected to her and others pushing the bed.

One nurse immediately left the bed they was pushing to respond to him.

"Oh, sir, she’s a patient who has been in a coma for months now due to some accident she had. Can I see her?" he asked.

"Sure," the nurse said and signaled them to wait.

"Ko ko ko," his shoes echoed through the room, each step bringing him closer to where they stopped. As he was about to get closer, someone rushed in and called his name, making him turn to see who it was.
