I shifted in Ash's embrace and faced him. Seconds after he made his bold statement, his expression showed nothing but absolute confidence. He daringly kept his eyes on Morfran while my heart hammered like it was going to burst out of my chest. I knew that it was all an act. It must have been, but still, hearing him say that his heart belonged to me made all the pesky butterflies jolt and bounce in my stomach.

"You cannot seriously talk about the archaic blood bond?" Prince Metis suddenly interjected, stepping forward. "This ancient stuff has not been witnessed in over a thousand years!"

Ash smirked. "And yet, I can feel the bond when I'm with Nala. I can feel it with every fiber within me."
