"I would drop that weapon of yours, if I were you" said a husky voice.
Chandni felt a shiver of panic but the thug didn't do much except to immobilise her and that voice suddenly sounded familiar. Chandni's newly acquired defence skills never got a chance to be put into practice as a new wave of sensations hit her. A smell and feel of someone she would recognise even in her sleep.
"Chandni, it's just me. Can you please lower your weapon of mass destruction?" Aryan chuckled in her ear from behind.
Chandni slowly released her breath that she didn't even realise she was holding back till then, as the tension in her whole body came down gradually.
She turned around to face him with her flushed face.
"Aryan! You freaked me ou
Just in a matter of minutes Aryan called Chandni, Madam Ninja Winnie the Pooh and Madam CEO.. What other titles can you suggest for Aryan? 😉 Once they let their guard down, they could easily converse about their past just like best friends isn't it? Till Chandni mentioned about Miku, Aryan's younger brother? Who is Miku and what happened to him, you will find out in the next few chapters. Stay tuned. Meanwhile please vote and review this book.
A Stony silence ensued for a few moments before Chandni exclaimed with a gasp. "Oh my god, look at the time!! I should have been home a long time ago. Gosh!! Atharv.... he must be whinging!!" She hastily pulled out her mobile and called home. "Chachi, it's me. I am so sorry I just got held up here in the office. How is Atharv? Did he finish his dinner? I promised him I will read him a story tonight and forgot all about it. Has he gone to bed already?" Chandni asked a barrage of questions anxiously. Aryan watched in astonishment the change in her demeanour, from a feisty girl ready to give back the best retort to that of a concerned mother, her face full of love for her child. "Oh... Ok. He is already asleep. No, that's absolutely fine. Thanks, Chachi.
There's a thread that connects us, regardless of what separates us, regardless of how intent we are to sever it. -- Leo Christopher Aryan and Chandni slowly walked towards the lift after locking up the office. Chandni made sure she called Nargis Chachi and informed that she would be arriving home later, after finishing dinner and was thankful that Chachi didn't ask too many questions. Chandni felt weird again, going in the empty lift, now with Aryan but the previous awkwardness at least wasn't there. But the lift suddenly felt smaller, warmer as if Aryan was taking up the whole space. Chandni moved to a corner and finally dared to look into Aryan's face. Aryan too was looking at her keenly, and responded sudden
"Chandu, I hope you trust me enough, even after all these years, at least on one thing. I consider marriage a sacred bond. That is why, how much ever my heart longed to see you, I never tried to meet you again, not to disturb your blissful life, as you have finally found someone you could spend the rest of your life with. And I would never ever cross my line when I am with you since you are a married woman, no matter what happened between us, all those years ago." Aryan's words held so much pain and love that Chandni replied in a gush. "I trust you, on that for sure. I swear to god I am being honest with you Aryan! There was a time, when I was too bitter and wallowing in self-pity that I did hate everything that happened between us. But it was only for a short while. But I never thought like that again. My time with you
Chandni and Aryan both looked confusedly at a Mumbai Police Constable, who rapped once again on the window, and rudely signalled to them to get out of the car. Aryan cursed himself for getting lost in his memories and not noticing the time. It has become very customary for the police in these public tourist places to get rid of parked vehicles after late hours, harass the public to pocket some extra money by laying false charges for parking, or even become moral police, by objecting to young people being seen together in public etc. "Chandni, you stay inside, sometimes these guys can be very obnoxious." Aryan opened the car door slowly but Chandni didn't pay heed to his advice and got out of the car from the other end as she looked at the constable defiantly, much to Aryan's exasperation.
ARMY Service HeadQuarters, Mumbai "Are you sure of your facts?" Avinash Thakur's piercing eyes bored in to the face of the person sitting opposite him, even though he was his old friend. The mighty Brigadier of Indian Army may have left active field service to become the Director General of Acquisition and Procurement at DGQA, (Service Headquarters) but his gaze and manners were still as sharp as ever. "You can see for yourself when he comes here later." The person opposite replied casually, his Cigar still in his mouth, even though out of flame. "By the way how and why did you meet him in Goa?" he asked, after a brief pause. Avinash took his time before answering. He asked for his old friend's cigar but got r
Raj Singh and Vikram entered the spacious chamber of Avinash Thakur. As Vikram did the introduction, which was followed by casual chit chat, Avinash assessed the man before him. In his long Military career with the latter years spent as a Judge, Avinash had a knack to assess people quickly and find out what makes them tick, what triggered the right response from them. He could see that Raj Singh was a highly emotional man and took pride in the fact that he was a self-made man, and was slightly temperamental too. He could also sense that Raj Singh felt a bit self-conscious in the company of the military men on either side. Avinash brought out seldom used charming manners, became more cordial than necessary and ensured that Raj Singh was put to ease. "Raj Singh Ji, Vikram and I go back a long way. When I knew that he bought your company which manufactures trans
The moment Atharv woke up, Chandni made sure that she greeted him with a tight hug and a kiss and gave him all the presents she somehow managed to hide for the past few days.Vikram had left the house quite early in the morning but promised Chandni that he will be back for lunch and will try to spend the rest of the day with both of them.Chandni opened all the presents along with Atharv and played with him for some time before busying herself in the kitchen and making sure she prepared all his favourite dishes. As Promised Vikram arrived at lunch hour and brought his own gift, a set of all the latest popular games for his PlayStation console and Atharv was ecstatic to say the least. But Chandni strictly forbade him to play any of the games right then as she knew
Two days later 7PM Sunday. Chandni emerged from the shower and quickly wrapped the new Silk Saree she bought for the housewarming party. She already felt exhausted and tired. All afternoon, she was busy overseeing the decorations and last-minute arrangements, and liaising with the event management team. Her tummy grumbled, reminding her that she hardly ate anything since breakfast as she was too busy, much to the ire of Nargis Chachi. But her biggest task had been to keep Atharv engaged and away from all the rush. She finally made sure he had an early dinner, and was taken away to Nargis Chachi's room by their housekeeper Shyamli, along with his iPad to keep him occupied. Vikram and Chandni even had a row about it earlier, as Vikram was of the opinion that excluding Atharv from the function w
