For the first few months after her return, Aishwarya seemed to behave in controlled fashion, not spending much and took active interest in learning the ropes of running their business, much to Raghav and Vasudha's delight. But Sanjay knew her too well to believe everything straightaway. After the Rath Yatra finished, the communal riots that broke out between Hindus and Muslims in their nearby cities and the rest of India, distressed and derailed the normal life of every one including Sanjay and Raghav's families and their business as well. This is a very important part of the flashback and it reveals more into the life and troubles of Sanjay, Aishwarya and Damini and the Lovely Bharadwaj family. It also throws light on important events during 1990's in India and it forms a very interesting and important back ground to the story. Just to clarify the time line, Raghav-Vasudha wedding happened in 1987 and few months later Aishwarya and Sanjay's wedding. Dev was born in 1989. Explanation about the historic events # The Ram Rath Yatra was a political and religious rally that lasted from September to October 1990. It went through various states in India, finally ending up in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, few hundred kilometres from the places mentioned in this story. Communal tensions between Hindus and Muslims were very common and lot of people from both religions died.
