CHAPTER 37: Aaron, The Bookkeeper

The trip went by smoothly. The entire group was in wolf form as we journey out of the silver borders I’ve grown accustomed to and into the wild, where a new life awaits me.

Lucius, on the entire trip was always at my side, despite the fact that I was the slowest among the bunch, he stayed behind where I was.

We took a few water breaks until dusk arrived. There was a lot more running to do. Lucius mentioned that they’ve traveled for two days — two hectic days to get to me.

I would have never felt special about that if it hadn’t been for the fact that he really had no business inside Penston Pack’s premises at all — he was just there to help me.

The wolves all stopped and I look around, still in my wolf form to the forest around me. It was an open field, good enough to camp in. In our mouths, we carried our luggages, the Imperial warriors all started to drop theirs to shift behind large oak trees.

I felt a stare beside me and I look at Lucius, in all his glorious wolf. Fur the darkest
