"What did that witch say to you?" Rion asked, after letting the atmosphere be silent for five seconds, it made Odette slightly knit her brows.
"Witch? Who?"
"My grandma."
"You call your grandmother a witch?" Odette felt incomprehensible. From the first time she came to the palace, she saw Rion always looking at His Highness Cristela with displeasure.
"Just answer my question."
"She didn't say anything."
"If you don't answer my question, you won't be able to get out of here."
Odette looked at Rion with surprise. What was really wrong with him?
"Huh?" She was somewhat surprised when R
In the morning, Odette escorted Daniel and Zen to the palace courtyard, to the horse carriage that was waiting for them. The two children were going to be escorted by two royal knights to the Magnolia residence. "I will miss you very much," said Odette, who was currently crouching down in front of Daniel. The boy didn't say anything, but he hugged Odette tightly. Odette kissed Daniel's forehead as soon as the boy let go of her. "Please grow up healthy." Now she turned to look at Zen, and the boy's face immediately turned red. What's more, when Odette touched his cheek gently he looked like he was about to burst into a cry. "You are amazing. Daniel is very lucky to have a brother like you," said Odette. "Th-thank you. You are so kind, like an angel, I'm lucky to
In Odette's room, Anwen tried hard to persuade Odette not to leave. "Miss Ody, please don't go. If you go, I will have no friends, and I will be lonely. Miss Ody, please think again, for my sake." Odette turned to see Anwen, who looked at her with pleading eyes. With a heavy heart, she could not grant the princess' wish. Rion just kicked her out, if she stayed in the palace, that meant she was a shameless person. Odette touched Anwen's cheek, for a moment, her hand remained there. "Please, don't be like this, and please understand my situation. If you want to meet me, then you know where to look for me," she said, then hugged Anwen. After that, she wiped Anwen's tears that had fallen, and then she walked out. Anwen offer
Those voices made Odette frightened. Who was it? Odette was scared but she realized forced herself to get up. She got out of bed and staggered toward the door. From there, she peeked out through a gap and was surprised when she saw the scene outside, which was very chaotic. Things were strewn on the floor, while the tables and chairs were overturned, as were the shelves near the cupboards. Who did all those things? Was it a thief? Her eyes shifted slightly from the mess and widened when she saw a gray-haired man tinkering with an empty cupboard. Was that Rion? Did she miss him so much that she saw the thief as Rion? She blinked her warm eyes a few more times and then tried to focus and get a good look at the man out there.
Rion got out of bed, and a basin of water caught his attention. He furrowed his brows in confusion, then turned to look, and picked up a folded piece of cloth near the basin. "This… is…?" He rushed to touch Odette's forehead. It was slightly hot. He felt worried and relieved at the same time. He was worried because he knew that Odette had a fever, and he was relieved that Odette's fever wasn't too bad. He fell silent again while he looked at Odette. 'I told you to leave because I want you to always be fine, but seeing you like this… what should I do?' He snorted, then pulled his hand from Odette's forehead. He looked around before he finally walked out of the room. When he came out, he was surprised again when he saw the chaos that was currently in front of him. Obje
Finally, Rion gave up. He put the spoon he was holding in the bowl that was on the table nearby. "I'll answer your questions after we eat. You have a fever, don't hang around too long. After eating, you should rest," he said, while he served the soup in a bowl. "Don't you remember what you said yesterday to me? Or are you just used to playing with other people's feelings?" Odette's words stunned Rion, and he looked at her. Odette walked over. "Why are you doing all this?" "Because I care about you," Rion finally replied. "Why do you care?" Rion was silent. "Get out, get out of here!"
Odette's annoyance with Rion disappeared for a moment. She felt sorry for the man, it seemed that Marine was one of the most important people to him. Rion had experienced many losses in his life. "Marina must mean a lot to you," she said. "Yeah. That's how it was. She was the only good thing in that hell. She often got into trouble because of me. She was lashed once for being caught teaching me how to cook." Rion told Odette about the day when King Roland found out that Rion was learning to cook, he was furious. Rion and Marina were sentenced to lashes. All the servants and residents of the castle who participated in hiding the secret were also lashed. However, out of all people, the one who received the most lashes was Marina. After she received the whip sentence, Marina was fired from her job as a servant. Not
Rion closed his eyes for a moment, then exposed his story to Odette. "That's… because I was worried about you," he finally said. It made Odette proud. She felt her heart was filled with so much warmth. Rion looked at the woman intently. "Get some rest, I don't want you to get sick," he said, then turned around, and continued his activity. He glanced at Odette, who didn't move as she stared at him. 'You are like the changing weather and I still fail to understand you,' she thought to herself. After a long silence, Odette finally left the place, and walked toward her room. In her room, she sat on the bed and thought of Rion's words. 'That's because I was worried about you.'
Odette said that it was like Rion building a wall by putting together a thousand bricks. Rion arranged them so that the wall stood well. He accidentally broke one brick, and he always looked at the broken brick until he forgot about the nine hundred and ninety-nine bricks that had been arranged well. "Just because of one mistake you made, you feel bad and forget the nine hundred and ninety-nine good things you did. Rion, you are a good person, a good man, a good brother, and you are a good king." Odette looked at the window, through the gap in the open curtain. Outside, there were several people chatting happily. "Do you see those people?" she said, which made Rion turn his head, to follow Odette's gaze, and he saw the same thing Odette saw. "They can laugh happily like that because of you, and they can sleep well at night because of you." Rion was stunned and looked back at Odette. "Well, Rion, all of that is possible, because they have a great king like you. They can move about
