Rondolf had been daydreaming since sunset. He stood there silently, staring at Vabal's corpse, severely injured in the neck and chest. The Alpha struggled to adjust to the truth he was experiencing. Vabal was dead.

"Rondolf, fixing your eyes on him won't bring him back to life." Rula walked up to him. She sat on the sofa's edge, holding a cup of hot cocoa.

Rondolf remained silent. He even ignored Rula's existence.

"He seems so precious to you, Rondolf." Rula concluded. The way the man regarded Vabal's body made everything obvious.

Rondolf moaned quietly, his head nodding constantly. "He's a friend."

"I have a lot of friends in this city, but it seems like Vabal is more important than friends." Rula still wanted more from Rondolf's response. "You look so hurt."

Rondolf fixed his gaze on Rula. Rula grew increasingly persuaded as she looked into Rondolf's eyes that Vabal's passing had left a significant wound in his heart.
