I left the packhouse feeling like a total wreck. Daniel had once again rejected me, using harsh language and insinuating that I was behind his parents’ decision to promote me to female Gamma status, a rank that had never existed.

His words had a hidden meaning. Was he implying that I had something to do with the attempts against Andy and his mother? If he did, he was not just a jerk. He was the worst male pri.ck ever.

“What the heck, Alicia? Is that your way of having fun? Turning every little step I make to get closer to my mate into a disaster? Do you think you can stop me this way?
