Catherine pov.

"What did I do?" I cried, into the room I was assigned, as I locked the door, not wanting anyone to bother me. The room was dimly lit, and the faint smell of stale air hung in the atmosphere. I could see the outlines of furniture scattered haphazardly around the room.

I was dissatisfied with the sin I had just committed; was I really pregnant again? The thought of it made my stomach turn, and I felt sick. The room started to spin, and I fell onto the bed. It was soft to the touch, and I buried my face into the pillow, trying to calm down.

"I should be regretting my first child, but look at me; I'm pregnant for someone I don't fully understand." The words escaped my lips, barely above a whisper. It felt like a weight was crushing down on my chest, making it hard to breathe.

As Lucas kept calling my name, I could hear a knock on the door. I didn't want them to see my face because I was embarrassed to come out. The knocking grew louder and more insistent, matching the pound
