087 The Hardest Choice

Willa's POV

"Granny!" I muttered in shock, only to realize what it must look like to granny -- I had never hugged any men before in her memories, let alone an Alpha. She definitely thought I broke her "no relationship, no sex" rule.

Not that I didn't, but with the wrong Alpha.

"Alpha." Granny bared her neck at the Alpha, and Kirsch nodded slightly, letting go of me.

"You are back, Scarlett. How's the trip?" Kirsch said to granny.

"It was great, Alpha. I met with my parents and they are both well. I really appreciate your generosity." Granny bowed to Kirsch. She always used "visiting home pack" as an excuse to get out of the new pack for pack scouting.

"That's good to hear. I asked Willa to move to my house for her safety's sake." Kirsch nodded at me with a polite smile.

"My appreciation, Alpha." Granny bowed. I peeked at Kirsch secretly. He didn't seem upset when granny addressed him by the title!

Kirsch pressed his lips into a line, hesitating before he said: "I understand you would want Willa to move back, but--"

Ohh, right...I gulped. I totally forgot about this with Al occupying my mind totally. Granny would never allow me to stay at the Alpha's house. I was actually surprised that she didn't burst out in anger when she saw me here.

"Thanks for the consideration, Alpha. I'm fine with it if Willa chooses to stay. Of course, if that's not too much trouble for you, that is, Alpha." Granny said with a bright smile before she glanced at me.

Surprisingly, she didn't seem to be upset with me!

That was weird.

Kirsch turned to look at me, and I gulped before I walked up to granny nervously: "Can we talk?"

Granny bowed to the Alpha before she came out to the garden with me. Kirsch didn't follow us.

"Granny...are you mad at me?" I asked nervously, staring into her eyes. My world changed so much ever since I came to the Gemini Crescent. Everything felt strange to me now. How could granny not be mad at me when I broke the ONE rule she insisted on for all these years?

"Why, did you misbehave?" Granny smirked with a taunting smile. I rubbed my eyes to make sure it was my real granny in front of me. She slapped my wrist lightly with a chuckle.

Okay, still the same granny.

"Why didn't you mind link me when you came back?" I clung to her arm with a grin, finally feeling like I knew her again.

"You told me you were here so I just thought to drop by." Granny tipped my chin to look into my eyes, "The friend who blacked out, was he the Alpha?"

Wellllll, technically, it WAS.

"How did you know?!" I decided that hugging the Alpha was enough a bomb for the day, no need to let granny know I was actually dating a rogue, the silver rogue that she feared the most no less.

Al had to remain a secret to granny, at least until I get my wolf back.

"What happened in the last two weeks? You definitely weren't into the Alpha before I left the pack." Granny taunted me, ignoring my question.

"Quite a lot, actually." I let out a short laugh. My life had always been eventful, but not THIS eventful. I told granny about Rachel, but that meant I had to tell her about Scarlett and the fact that Rachel was targetting me for the exact same reason I got trouble with Liam.

"I'll deal with Rachel, you don't have to worry about her again," Granny said coldly. She could be terrifying sometimes. She was caring in general, but I was always her priority.

"It's okay. The Alpha saved me. I don't think he would take Rachel's side on this one." I shrugged, and granny's eyes suddenly turned taunting again.

"What?!" I blushed ONLY because she was staring at me in a weird way, all gossipy!

"How do you like the Alpha now?" Granny nudged me on the shoulder, and her eyes flickered. Antonia was peeking at me as well.

"Stop it! You are being weird again!" I turned around with a blush, dodging her eyes before my eyes spill my secret.

"Well, I guess you are staying here then." Granny chuckled, tickling me with her fingers on my waist.

"I--I don't know..." Hearing that from her suddenly shocked me. I was okay with moving around before granny was back. I never really had a home, and I was okay with staying basically anywhere. But I had always been staying with granny so long as she wasn't pack scouting.

I never imagined any other way.

"You have to leave me at some point, Willa." Granny smiled, patting me on my head, "You are two months away from turning 18, and that means mates, marks, and marriage--"

"Granny!" I covered my face, feeling my head steaming. Did I just get a marriage talk from her?!

Granny burst into laughter.

"But, what about the new moon?" I lowered my voice, realizing my problem was far more than just homesick.

"I thought you said the Alpha won't be in the pack on the new moon," Granny asked, glancing at the house. I turned to look, Kirsch wasn't there anymore.

"Well, that's true..." I hesitated. I never imagined leaving granny, not so abruptly. I wouldn't have if it weren't for Rachel. But now with Al living here...

I didn't want to be anywhere else.

I felt guilty toward granny.

"I'll come and pick you up after he leaves, and I'll carry you back before dawn. It won't be a problem." Granny already had her plans A, B, and C figured out.

"I have never left you before..." I knew I wanted to stay, but I was also reluctant to leave granny, not just for the guilt, but also because granny only had me.

"It's okay." Granny chuckled, "My little red riding hood is all grown up now. This day will come, sooner or later, silly."

Granny was smiling brightly, but it was exactly the bright smile that burned my heart. I could hear the attachment in her voice, and it hurt me that I had to choose.

"Do I HAVE to choose?" I whined, suddenly realizing if I did, I would be leaving granny, for real.

"I'm only minutes away, silly. This is how everyone grows up, little one." Granny chuckled, taking me into her arms.

"Then I don't want to grow up!" I shook my head, wouldn't let go.

"Just tell granny, do you WANT to stay?" Granny stroked my hair, calming me down.

I knew I wanted to, and I knew it was stupid to be upset for getting something I wanted, but still, tears fell, beyond my control.

I nodded.

It makes me sad that Willa isn't warming up to Kirsch even though he's done so much for her.
