Amelia's POV

We were the only ones in the elevator, so I asked her, "Why did you stop me from going back inside? I heard mom sobbing."

"Because…"

"Blaire."

"She was clearly crying because of what… you know… what happened with the jerk whose name we shall not mention."

"Exactly, I guessed so, Blaire. Which was why I wanted to go back in and comfort her and assure her that you are not."

"But you are not, Amelia. And they know it. And they feel guilty, your mom especially. This recent incident must have made them feel even more worse. To them, they probably feel like a burden, like they are holding you back or down. And this… incident with the jerk whose name we shall not mention is and will most likely weigh heavily on their heart. It was clear the way they were trying to get you to go back to Florida. Just let them process this on their own, it would be better that way."
