67. Thea's intention

In the dimly lit room, Thea's heart pounded as she heard Steven's voice behind her. Her body stiffened, but she refused to show any vulnerability. Memories flooded back of their time together, the love they once shared, and the painful rejection that followed. It seemed fate had brought them back together, but the wounds were still fresh, leaving both of them guarded and defensive.

"What are you doing here?" she asked in a blank tone, trying to mask the fear that was rising within her. Steven's presence sent shivers down her spine, but she refused to let him see her weakness.

"You shouldn't be getting my scent as you rejected me. I was very quiet. Then how do you know that I am here? Do you witches have eyes at the back of your head?" Steven's voice was laced with bitterness as he entered the room. Thea turned around slowly, meeting his gaze with a mix of anger and sadness. Their past was filled with pain and rejection, and it seemed like the wounds were still fresh for both of them.
