Chapter 5

  Araceli POV

Silver Fang was located in a villa area on the Upper East Side.

Many wealthiest New Yorkers lived here, and this place got a lot of art galleries and designer shopping malls. It was a symbol of luxury and status.

The butler respectfully led the way. I led Krish and Valeria inside.

  "Araceli, you're finally back..."

Veronica waited at the entrance of the villa for a long time. When she saw me walk in, her eyes filled with tears.

Veronica Felton was my grandma. She was one of the few family members in this world who really cared about me.

Veronica whimpered, "Araceli, you're finally back... These years have been so difficult for all of us, and you really have a hard time getting through it."

  "Grandma..."

I leaned on Veronica's shoulder and felt a moment of peace that I hadn't felt in a long time. I could finally let down my guard and stop living in fear this moment.

In this world, Veronica was the only person I still cared about.

I live in a small town in France. Veronica still sent someone to find me and told me to come back.

I knew that most people in Silver Fang, except Veronica, would not welcome me, so I delayed it again and again.

"Krish and Valeria, right? They're so cute."

Veronica bent down and touched Krish and Valeria's faces.

Krish smiled gently, "Grandma, I'm glad to meet you. I've heard a lot about you from Mommy."

However, Valeria felt a stranger's smell and took a wary step back.

Veronica knew Valeria's autism, so she sighed and said, "I've contacted the best doctor in New York. We can send Valeria over in a few days for a checkup."

I nodded, took the kids and followed Veronica towards the villa.

The members of Silver Fang were in the living room.

This was Silver Fang's old house, so the members who could live here were all full-blooded, including the uncles who were related to me by blood. They lived here with their wives and children.

I looked up and saw familiar faces. My cousin, Evelin Felton, sat in the middle of the couch.

"Mom, why did Grandma suddenly ask us to come back?" I heard Evelin say with some impatience.

Evelin was 27 years old and had long been married.

My eldest uncle's wife, Madyson Hanbury, took a sip of tea and replied to Evelin, "Perhaps this conversation is about her will."

  "Her will?"

  Evelin's eyes lit up.

I knew she was excited at this point and thought she could get some of Silver Fang's property as well.

Everyone else had a greedy gleam in their eyes when they heard the words.

I knew they were thinking about how much money and shares Veronica would give them.

At this time, Veronica and I walked in.

They froze when they saw me. All of them were staring at me without blinking.

  I frowned slightly.

Evelin stared at me for a moment, shocked.

Suddenly, she smiled brightly and walked towards me. "Araceli! I can't believe you're still alive. This is incredible!"

Veronica gently patted me on the back to give me courage.

I smile calmly, not feeling the least bit nervous.

I greeted each and every one of them politely.

After that, there was dead silence. No one dared to speak.

"Araceli." Madyson said to me with an incredulous look on her face, "Didn't you die five years ago?"

"Nonsense!" Veronica's face suddenly turned gloomy. "Araceli is not dead. She just went to live abroad. I didn't want too many people to know about it, so I kept it hidden."

Silver Fang's members' eyes widened, and their mouths opened wide in shock.

I sneered and didn't say anything. I knew Veronica was protecting me.

Madyson's gaze fell on Krish and Valeria. "Araceli, are they your children? Do you know who their father is? If they are bastards, our family's reputation will be ruined!"

  My eyes suddenly turned cold.

I looked down at Madyson and said, "Madyson, I remember you were pregnant with Evelin before you married into Silver Fang back then. Do you mean that Evelin is also a bastard?"

Madyson was so angry that her eyes seemed to be on fire. "Shut up! You bitch! How dare you speak to us like this? We're your family!"

I smiled calmly and raised my eyebrows.

"Oh, calm down, Madyson. There is no need to be so angry. You'll have plenty of opportunities to be angry with me in the future. I mean, you really have to take care of your health. Don't get pissed off and then die suddenly."

Madyson was enraged and yelled, "What did you say? Bitch, watch your mouth! You know what, fuck you, and I'm going to make you regret what you just said!"

Madyson's eyes were burning, as if she was going to show her fangs and bite me to death in the next moment.

  "That's enough!" Veronica shouted.

The living room instantly fell silent.

Veronica looked at every person in the living room. "If I hear anyone cursing Araceli and her two children again, I will punish them severely according to our pack's rules!"

Everyone stopped talking at once, but they weren't convinced. I knew they would do anything to make things difficult for me.

My mother was Silver Fang's only daughter. She got a lot of things from Veronica when she was a little girl.

She later married my father, Zackary Chancey, and received a large sum of money from Silver Fang.

Veronica loved my mother so much and gave her everything she could.

However, no one would have thought that my mother would die not long after that.

Now, I was back. This created a powerful sense of crisis for all the members of Silver Fang.

I knew everyone was mad with jealousy, but I didn't care.
