Chapter 55

(Serena's POV)

My world shattered as the pain in my chest escalated like a virus. It's spreading inside that my legs almost wobble in weakness. My hand search for a support in the wall while I can't take my eyes off of them.

Lauren is in undies below Marcus's half-naked body.

As soon as Marcus look in my direction, his eyes widened, and take a glance at the woman under him, then look at me again with confused eyes. And when he realized what was happening, he abruptly got off the bed and run toward my position.

Before he even reach me, I fled the room and uses the stairs with a pain in my chest. I can't use the elevator, he can catch up on me in an instant and I don't want to be with him in one room.

I loathe myself for being a fool. I let my heart decide than my mind. It's all true. Using too much heart can cause pain. And now, I'm experiencing it.
