Melanie's POV
"Good morning." I greeted Janet cheerfully when I sighted her.
"Morning." She replied with a grin. I dropped my backpack and proceeded to bring out the necessary things I needed for the day's work.
"Morning, Steve." I heard Janet's voice and I glanced briefly at Steve, who was approaching our seats.
"Hey, Jane." He answered without adding a "t" to her name. According to him, he found "Jane" more pleasing than "Janet". Whatever that means!
The two of them began to chat like the talkatives they tend to be. Most times, I wonder why I never really discuss at length with either of them. My conversation style was and is still always boring. I ignored them anyway.
I focused on what I was busy with and when I was done, I head to my locker. I input my password and I placed some books in it. In return, I picked up some notes. As soon as I closed the locker's door, I came face to face with Cla
Megan's POV"Why, Megan? Why?" Morgana half-yelled when it seems my silence got on her nerves."I'm sure this isn't the first time he risked the code of secrecy, Morgana." I snapped.Morgana stared intently at me without any effort to avert her gaze."The fact that he used it to get me doesn't signify anything important." I shrugged."But the fact that he's obsessed with you does." She scoffed."He is not..." I tried to argue but I shut my mouth when I saw the look she gave me. I let out a shaky breath and a sigh."Okay, fine. He's obsessed with me." I said and she raised a brow."But that isn't my fault. I want none of this as well." I palmed my face."And after all he did, he's still back to claim the band and its owner...and then me. All these wears me out." I cried out. After what seemed like a minute, I felt Morgana's hand on my back.
Megan's POV"What's wrong with you?" Morgana asked. The look on her face showed absolute concern."I ... I'm not sure." I tried not to stutter. "But I think something is wrong with Melanie." I voiced out my concern."I think you need to go back as soon as possible." Morgan interfered."But Sage..." I tried to say."Leave Sage out of this. You need to get back as soon as you can. I'm sure he had done something to Melanie." Morgana fumed."How do we protect the rest then?" I asked."Take care of Kenzie first." Morgan told me as he helped me stand up."Then you'll come back for the rest." Morgana added as I was led to the door."We need to map out a plan, anyway. So y'all should be here together." I nodded and got ready to leave.~"You're back?" I heard a surprised voice behind me and I turned."Father!" I exclaimed as I ran towards the couple. I scanned them for a
Steve's POVI paced up and down the passageway of the hospital. I was nervous and that heightened my fears. I wasn't sure I could fathom what exactly was wrong with Melanie. The last time I saw her, she looked pale. She looked as if there was no blood in her veins anymore. When she collapsed, it was a real surprise that she whitened up immediately. Nevertheless, I conveyed her to the school's sickbay for immediate treatment. But the doctor in charge of the sick bay said he won't admit her. He gave a slick excuse.I wanted to call my chauffeur but I reconsidered and concluded that the principal is the fastest option. Janet volunteered to call the man."He's here, Steve." I turned when I heard Janet's voice from the door steps of the sick bay. I went into the room Melanie was laid in, I intend to carry her but the Mr Albert beat me to it."What's wrong with her?" He asked as he lifted up Melanie from the bed."She..." I tri
Steve's POV"What is?" I asked as I tucked my hand into my pocket."Your girlfriend's life!"I squinted my eyes when I heard that. What about Melanie? And how did a stranger get to know about her state?"What do you mean?" I summoned the courage to ask."It isn't a secret that your friend - oops sorry! I mean your girlfriend." The person chuckled with a hint of mockery in his tone."What exactly do you wanna say?" I fumed."Well, it isn't a secret that she is sick and is at the hospital."I ran my fingers through my hair."At least not to me." He completed."What do you want?" I asked."Melanie!""What?" I scoffed in disbelief. The door to Melanie's ward was flung open and two nurses ran out of the room hurriedly."Hurry! Go to the blood bank." I heard faintly as the door closed. Few seconds later, another nurse rushed out of the ward."Do you want t
Megan's POV"Steve, listen to me." I snapped at him. He glanced briefly at me before he averted his gaze."That band is..." I trailed off.How do I explain this to him without giving Melanie off? He glanced at me and let out a scoff."Seems you are scared of admitting the fact that the band endangers her life.""No, that's not it." I sighed. "Infact, I owe you no explanation as to why she needs the band." I glared at him."Then I'm in for the band." He finalized and tried to walk away, towards Melanie's ward. However, I stopped him with a pull of his hand before he could get any further."You won't dare do that.""And why?" He yelled and I kept quiet."Why? Cause I can't watch her die just because I couldn't get the band off her wrist."Tears clouded his eyes."Who fed you such nonsense? She isn't going to die." I told him but he yanked free his hand from my grip.
Steve's POVI sighed heavily when I fluttered my eyes open from the sudden feeling of looming danger. I looked round me and realized I was still at the hospital. I must have slept off when I sat down atter my little chat with Mrs Spears, Melanie's mom.It was of little surprise to me that I do not recall what exactly we were arguing about. I didn't know the words I said to her. I wasn't even sure if I was rude or not. The only thing I could recall is something about my memories. I asked her yet she didn't give me any good explanation.Did she give an explanation at all? No! She blatantly and skillfully avoided answering my question. And all these wasn't really surprising as one would think I'd be. It isn't surprising to me anymore that I forget specific things nowadays. It happened some months ago and it happened again today. I wonder what exactly is wrong with me.I glanced at my wristwatch and realized it was nighttime alrea
Steve's POVSchool wasn't much fun today, most especially, now that Melanie isn't here. There wasn't much difference between the two situations though. But still her presence makes the whole difference. If she was here, our endless chit chat and little fights would be on. If she was here, we'd have had a brief movie night yesterday and I'd be here trying to keep her awake in History class. I yawned at that thought."Till tomorrow, students." The history teacher said before exiting the class."You looked stressed out. I hope all is good?""Had a rough night." I sighed. I raised my head briefly to see who I just replied."You?" I gaped at Nancy. I never expected to see her.I really haven't been seeing much of her around lately. She just seems distant."Yeah, it's me." She smiled and sat down beside me, apparently on Janet's seat."How have you been?""Pretty good." She shrugged."I haven't been seeing
Observer's POVEvery view narrator was down. Sage brought them down and made some of them captives.I, your invisible observer, will give the details till we're all good to go.Oh! I thought I'd need a dramatic appearance but no! This is all cool.As for now, the sovereign reports aren't much. I'll just give a summary.~Melanie laid close to being lifeless at the hospital. Steve was going insane bit by bit from the different unbelievable occurrences that were taking place in his life.Suzy was nowhere to be found, as she has been taken captive. No one knew her whereabouts nor did they believe she was missing. Those that were in the car with her the day she was taken seems to have lost their memories along with their boss, Suzy.A bit of their memories has been wiped out. They had forgotten the part of being in the car together while a whirlwind attacked their car. All they could remember was that th
