Chapter Fifty: Suspicious

EMILY'S POV

Lucien returned to the room late after the contest questioning session. I was still tucking the boys in bed in their room when he returned so we didn't meet immediately after he entered the room.

He was in the shower when I came in. My scent filled the room and he immediately called my name.

“Emmy, you are late!”

I huffed in astonishment.

“I am late? So what about you, did you come early?” I mocked his words. He growled at me and it made me laugh.

“Join me in the shower. I have a few things I want to tell you.” His words sounded like an order.

“No, I already bathed.” I refused outrightly.

“I already took my bath and I don't want to take another one. I will be waiting for you in bed.”

I climbed the bed and rolled into the sheets, waiting for him.

He was out of the bathroom after a few minutes. His towel was around his waist and his chest bare. I sat up in the bed, running my eyes around him.
