CHAPTER 28

Coralline's POV

I came home really late. By then, Victor and Monica were already asleep. I went into my room and met Damon on the bed typing on his laptop.

With one glance, one could easily tell that he was annoyed. He smiled when he saw me. He dropped the laptop on the bed and walked towards me.

'How was work today?' He asked.

'Tiresome. Thankfully, today's Friday. I've missed spending quality time with you.' I said.

He smiled and said

'Me too.'

I stared at his face worriedly. One can easily tell he was angry because he was doing a bad job of hiding his anger. I wonder what made him this annoyed? Anyway, I should let his anger cool off a little first before I ask him anything.

'Have you eaten?' I asked.

'Yes. What about you?' He asked.

'I have. I had dinner with my fellow colleagues.' I explained.

He nodded his head in understanding.

'I better go and shower. I reek of sweat.' I joked trying to make him smile genuinely and it worked.
