Chapter 59

Daryl stood on the sidewalk, his eyes widening as he saw a woman step out of a sleek black car parked nearby. There was something about her that felt familiar, but he couldn't quite place it. As she approached him, he couldn't help but blurt out in surprise.

"Daryl, is that you?" the woman called out, a smile forming on her face.

Daryl's jaw dropped as he processed her words. "Hilary? Is that you?"

Hilary nodded, her smile widening. "Yes, it's me! I can't believe we've run into each other like this."

Daryl was speechless for a moment, trying to reconcile the image of the woman standing before him with the memories he had of Hilary. They had known each other back in college, but they had lost touch over the years.

"I can't believe it's you," Daryl finally managed to say, a mix of shock and excitement evident in his voice. "What brings you here? It's been ages since we last saw each other."
