Chapter 83

Cinderella rushed through the door of her family's modest home, her heart pounding with excitement. She took one step inside and called out, "Mom! I'm home!"

Her mother, who was sitting in the living room, looked up at her with a smile. "Hi, Cinderella. How was your day?"

"It was amazing!" Cinderella exclaimed, beaming from ear to ear. "I went to the boutique with Emma, and it was so much fun!"

Her mother's smile grew wider. "I'm glad you had a good time. Tell me all about it."

Cinderella eagerly began recounting her afternoon with Emma, her younger stepsister, who had recently moved in with them. Emma was only seven years old, but she had already captured Cinderella's heart with her infectious energy and enthusiasm.

"We went to the boutique to buy Emma a new dress for the school play," Cinderella explained. "And we ended up trying all sorts of things! Dresses, shoes, jewelry...Emma was like a kid in a candy store."

Her mother chuckled. "I can imagine. And you had a good time too
