CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Kendall

The sun was perfect today. Not too hot. Just perfect. It was peaceful to listen to the calmness of the sea as it rushed upon the shore and touch the tip of my toes. I needed the time to think. To think about what I need to do to Lance. Or not do. I hate the good side of me, because each time I come up with something, it’s either stupid, or I decide against it. After all, I’m the reason he’s the way he is. I had thought maybe he would be nice to me, but I was wrong. I can see the hatred in his eyes whenever he looks at me. It’s like I’m a rotten piece of meat that stinks. I fail to understand how people work with him.

I got up from the sand and went to take a dip in the water, and it’s like the universe decided against my alone time because Lance approached me in less than five minutes. It’s like he always follows me around. It’s so creepy and annoying.

“Well, You’re brave enough to walk on the beach half naked with a … broken down body like yours.”
