CHAPTER 56

I groaned as I shifted on the soft surface. My back was stiff and my entire abdomen hurt in an unexplainable way. Where was I? What was happening? I opened my eyes, shyly at first and shut them immediately. The light bleached my eyes and made me groan uncomfortably. A few more seconds and I peeled them open again, taking in my surroundings. I was in my chambers, on my bed. I groaned out again, loudly this time as I tried to get up, the entire pain gripping my lower parts. I moaned painfully as I laid back down immediately, my breaths coming out in pants. My hands reached down instinctively on my bandaged abdomen, in a soothing way. That was when I remembered what happened. What I had done.

I sobbed out, the sound coming out as a gasp. I wasn't supposed to be alive. I wasn't supposed to survive. No. This wasn't the plan. I was meant to have been found dead in the morning. How was I supposed to live without Aria? The question alone itself terrified me. People wouldn't understand why
