Monica's pov

*While in exile*

I had to wake up that day with pains still in my neck; I had not fully recovered and was still getting strong. It was morning, and some of the inmates were still asleep, so I had to lay down there for some moments before I could think of going out.

You are awake already," my friend AK-307 said to me.

She has woken up too because of me and noticed that I was awake, and she was not in a hurry to ask me that question.

She had been monitoring me ever since I have been gradually recovering; it has been a hard process for me, and it was very slow to take all the pain that follows it. But I had to put up with the task.

Supported by my friend, I knew that I could take up the task. It would not be an easy task, but I had no choice but to take it up.

"Yes, I could not sleep comfortably today. I think I will have to just stay up a little bit," I said to her.

I could see the worries on her face and what she might have been thinking all along. I could imagine how badl
