28. TRYING TO PACIFY HER INDIRECTLY.

"Young Madam, please come out. Your dinner was served thirty minutes ago and it's getting cold already. " Steward Ben pleaded at the door. He had been standing in front of it for the last ten minutes but the woman refused to even say a word and he was getting worried.

"You may leave because I am not hungry. " She replied. Steward Ben was happy and sad at the same time. He was happy that she finally spoke which meant she was not dead or that she had injured herself while the opposite was that she wasn't willing to eat.

"No...no, madam. Please, don't do this if not I am going to lose my job and my poor head."

I actually like the way Allen is, if he is too soft then he lose the dominant strength in the story and Jane need to work harder to crack more the shell
