A SURPRISE GIFT.

Megan's eyes fluttered open, the room was bright. She stretched and then sat up, Leo was on the armed cushion in the room, and his laptop was on his lap, when he saw she had woken up, he kept the cup of whatever he was drinking on the small table beside the chair and closed the laptop.

"You are awake. I thought you were not ready to wake up at this point." His voice was so deep. He stood up and sat beside her on the bed. "We have a busy day ahead. First, you must eat your breakfast."

He handed her a tray of food, there was a single red rose by the side and a note. Her eyes went to his face and he gestured to the note. She opened it and read it. It was a handwritten short note from him apologizing about last night. She took the rose and smelt it, it was fragrance-filled.

"Thank you, Leo. You did not have to apologize, I understand you a bit."
