Ethan and his mother were busy arguing with each other. He was feeling grateful that his mother had finally back in a full pledge of her true self but the consequences that come with her had caught him futilely off guard.
Eve’s reasoning was driving him to the edge that he couldn’t fathom how his mother ended up with this kind of conclusion. Her firm resolve about breaking the ties with the Smiths doesn’t make any sense to him. It was total nonsense for him.
