Chapter 15 Deceived

While reading the name list of the admitted patients that Marcus had sent on her email, Izzabelle was frozen in shock. She was momentarily dumbfounded.

As the saying goes 'the truth shall prevail', indeed her efforts didn't went in vain. Her five years of training resulted in such a fruitful way.

Her mind went blank and she felt a huge lump blocking on her throat. She felt dizzy all of a sudden as her eyes began to get blurry then as if on cue, fresh tears started to fall out from her eyes like rain drops. Her body was uncontrollably shaking from too much crying and sobbing. She covered her mouth to prevent herself from being noticed by their servants downstairs. She wasn't ready to tell them for the meantime if they happen to interrogate her about the reason for her sudden cries.

She couldn’t believe it, what she had seen and read a few seconds ago. It's like she was dreaming! Her mother! Her mother that she was missing so much is still alive! She was having mixed emotions for the new fact that she had discovered.

Amanda Winchester - her grandmother

George Winchester - her grandfather

Myra Winchester - her beloved mother

They’re on those list of patients and all are in comatose state. Only ventilators supported them to breath for years. According to their medical history, the three were diagnosed with the same results, a brain contusion on which was caused by an impact to the head. Probably the heavy blow result by their car wrecking accident.

Recovering from her emotional turmoil, she wiped her tear stained face. She decided to take a walk for a while and breath some fresh air to clear her mindset.

She needed to think of a foolproof plan to rescue her family, and what about her brother, Inzo? Does it mean that his also still alive? The thought of him alive made her smile, she missed him so much too.

Standing up, she made her way into her bathroom and took a quick bath, change into a comfortable casual clothes, and wear her simple but expensive rubber shoes. It’s her choice of outfit every time she goes out for a walk to think. She doesn’t need any makeup to make her look beautiful because she is naturally strikingly gorgeous already.  Fixing herself in front of the mirror, her lips curved up into a small smile knowing she could always look stunning effortlessly.

Still the same narcissistic Izza!

Satisfied with her beautiful yet simple looks, she grabbed her car keys and slid it to her purse together with her phone and wallet.

She rushed down the stairway with quick and urgent steps. Then she walked towards the kitchen counter to moisten her thirsty throat. But before she could go on further, a 40 years old woman greeted her with a smile plastered on her face. It’s her longtime nanny Linda.

“There you are... Izza, can I get you something?” Linda offered while smiling at her.

“Uhm... a glass of cold water please...” She answered and smiled back.

“Okay, I’ll get it for you, please wait for a moment.”

Linda then hurriedly went towards the fridge to fitch a pitcher of cold water and a glass for Izzabelle. She pours down the water and handed it to the young lady in front of her.

Izzabelle reach for the glass and gulped the liquid content slowly. And while drinking, she took a side glance at her nanny and noticed that she seems to be flustered and wants tell her something but at the same time the older woman was hesitating.

She had mastered psychology during her training so it’s a piece of cake for her to read her nanny’s facial expressions. But she pretended not to noticed it and act innocently. So, she asked her calmly instead just to make it easy for her to spill her thoughts.

“Linda, do you want to tell me something? What is it? Please don’t hesitate to tell me, you know me well, I’m always willing to listen to you, right? I’m still the old Izzabelle that you brought up for years..!”

She coaxed gently trying to assure her. She’s been careful and cautious enough not to scare her nanny.

“Izza, I... I want to tell you something, uhm... so-someone wants to see you, he.. he said it’s urgent.” Linda stammered while speaking as it was proof enough that she’s nervous.

Izzabelle starred at her nanny’s face for a short while but the nervousness of Linda’s face didn’t go unnoticed by the young lady. But still she just nodded and gestured her to continue relaying her unfinished words. Linda also gestured her to wait and rushed to her room to get a piece of folded paper and handed it to her.

Taking the piece of paper, she opened and read the written message into it. Her eyebrows furrowed as she was confused about the message. It’s an address of an apartment, but when her eyes roamed down the last line, her breathing hitched, her heart beats skyrocketed. The words are too familiar to her.

“Take care babe.”

Those endearment, besides from Lizz no one else’s called her that way but her boyfriend Ethan. Was it really him?

Her curiosity kicks the hell out of her sanity. She excitedly folded the paper again and shoved into her trousers pocket. She mouthed a “Thank you!” to her nanny then she bid her goodbye and finally exited their mansion. She took few strides to the garage and drove her black Bugatti away.

What she wasn't aware of is that, Linda was actually threatened to act and relay the message smoothly in order to deceive her into coming the address. The pitiful nanny had left with no choice but to compromise completely and act according to their instructions for the sake of her beloved daughter's safety.
