CHAPTER 27

My hand goes automatically to my left cheek and I rub softly in an attempt to ease the pain, blinking rapidly to keep my tears at bay. 

_Dad just hit me?_

I grit my teeth furiously and I take a very deep breath trying to calm my furious self down and believe me, it is quite a task. I can't believe that my very own father just slapped me yet he has never hit me in all my twenty-four years. I stood there when he raised his hand, I didn't make any efforts to step away because I didn't expect him to slap me, but he did.

"You slapped me?" I ask, looking up at him and he shoots me a glare as he paces around, hands shoved in his pockets.

I expected to see remorse masking his entire face but there is nothing. His face is void of emotions.

"You hit your own daughter?" Lydia asks, she is shocked just like I am. 

"And I will gladly slap her other cheek if she disrespects me again."&n
