Today was the worst day of my life. After pleading with Devon, he refused to believe me and kept insisting that I snitch on his rivals to get information.
I felt someone staring at me. I turned and saw Devon's assistant turning her face away. I couldn't tell what was wrong with that one, but I had a lot on my mind at the moment, I could care less about her.
Inside my car, I bit my lower lip, trying my best not to cry. I did not want to always appear weak. I drove off at first, heading the direction of my office, but when I was almost at my beauty salon, I made a turn and started heading for Alice's salon. Perhaps it was because I needed someone to talk to right now and had acted out of instinct.
