“Thank you, sir.. but I can still book another—”

“Why go through a hassle if you can conveniently ride my car?”

“I appreciate your kindness, but—”

“Good timing.” He cut her in for the second time.

“G..Good timing?”

He nodded, trying to suppress a smile. “He’s here.”

The driver just showed up. “Sorry, sir. I’m a bit late.”

“It’s okay, we’re not in a hurry.” Glenn handed the key to the driver and then rushed to the car to get the door for Kaye.

But the girl’s feet seemed glued on the floor, unable to make even a single step.

“Should I carry you or what?”

Worried the guy might really do what he said, Kaye stepped back. “It’s not rush hour anymore so it’s no longer hard to catch a taxi. You can leave now, sir.”

“How can I leave you here alone?” He closed the door and leaned against his car. “But if you insist, then book a ride.” He held out his hand with her phone, giving it back to her. “I won’t leave unless I see you get inside the taxi.”
