Lucius POV

Calling her a rose doesn't fully cover it; she's my intoxicating belladonna and I am addicted.

When I heard that she would be part of this year's entourage yet again, I'd felt a surge of excitement that I hadn't felt in centuries.

The first time I saw her was four years ago and ironically, Bartholomew, the kingdom's seer, had told me the day before their arrival that I was about to experience a life-changing upheaval in my life.

The sneaky bastard had smiled in a roguish way and told me to my face that it was going to straighten me out.

I had thought it would be an upcoming war in the supernatural world or even a breakthrough in my quest to talk to my creator but when I saw her, I knew. I knew because no one and absolutely no one has ever caught and held my attention the way she does.

Fiery hair and eyes as green as the forest during spring, fair skin that lights up in the most beguiling way, without any blemish apart from a mole under her left ear.
