The maid returned soon after and laid out a couple of dishes in front of mother. The pungent scent filled the room, almost making me puke.

I had to cover my nose. What the heck was this? Mother however didn't have any reaction similar to mine.

She took the first bite and her face lit up. "Mom..." I was startled.

"What?" She looked up and stretched a spoonful of whatever it was. "It's actually not as bad as it looks and smells. It's actually delicious."

I gagged and pressed the button on my wheelchair to reverse. No way was I going to taste that thing.

"On second thought, you should have it. She made it for you."

Mom shook her head at me helplessly and began to eat with so much enthusiasm that surprised me. I can't even stand the scent. How can she eat it so easily?
