Chapter Fifty-Five

I was at home struggling to finish up my assignments and found it quite hard to concentrate as all I had in mind was Mace. I remembered my splendid day yesterday with him. I have just been smiling a lot these few days and sincerely pray it remains like that. I hopped in the shower after I was done with my work, trying my best to calm my nerves and not explode with another round of laughter looking at the ring. I was still in the shower when I heard a car drive in. I assume it was Mace because it was a little too late for visitors.

I quickly rushed my bath and came out of the shower tying a towel. I was about to dress up when I heard his voice asking his men something, and I knew he was back. I was about to pick up my phone from the nightstand when the door opened, and I turned to see him behind me.

His face lit up in a smile when our eyes locked. He hugged me from behind, planting a kiss on my shoulder.
