Chapter Sixty-Seven

I opened my eyes the next morning, feeling pain all over my body. I turned to see Mace lying on his side while watching me. He smiled at me before kissing my forehead.

"Good morning," he said.

I smiled, covering my face with the covers. "How long have you been watching me sleep?" I asked timidly.

"Not long enough," he replied, caressing my baby bump.

"How is my baby?" he asked, bending down to kiss my bump, The baby replied with a kick. I don't know, but for some odd reason, he sure knows his father's touch.

"Oh my god!" I screamed, laughing.

"He kicked?" I nodded in reply, took his hands, and placed them back on my tummy.

He caressed it a bit. "Daddy can't wait to carry you in his arms, peanut," he whispered.

As if he could hear, he responded with yet another kick, and Mace's face lit up in a smile.
