The next morning

Granger parked the Tesla in front of the House of God. At least, that's what they said. The place where the corrupt politician would kneel and beg for forgiveness for leaving half a million people below the poverty line.

He buttoned up his jacket and walked into the church unhurriedly, observing the building, three times larger than the last time he saw it. The building was old, but not aged. The colors, the Renaissance style, the shapes. Everything made it seem like the church had never undergone renovation, but the truth was that less than a million dollars would barely be enough to erect the pillars.

He looked up at the cloudy sky, feeling the weather instability in the big cities and making him miss an isolated island in southern Europe. Upon entering the sacred temple, he looked around out of habit.
