Maeve POV

“Thank you so much for today,” I said to Jane. We are finally done with the coronation and after party and now we are all seated in the living room with Jane.

“Just doing my duty,” she said, sipping the lemon tea she requested.

“So why did you do all this?” Ario asked. She nods her head, smiling.

“I did all this because I don’t want what happened the last time to repeat itself because the truth is we can’t help Selene. We can only keep her captive till she is strong enough to let loose,” she said.

“So, how does this help?” I asked.

“Well, Carson was the first wolf to be ever made, and he was just an ordinary wolf. No special power. The only thing that differentiate him from other wolves was he was stronger, but not to everyone in atena. If Carson was a god or had powers, things would have been different. Selene wouldn’t have gotten to him like she did and a lot of things would have been avoided,” she said.
