He froze for a second when he understood I feared him; he gulped audibly and lifted his hand towards me in a slow manner as he was afraid to scare me more than I was. Holding my wrist, which was rested over my chest in fear. His hold was soft. He pulled me lightly towards him and wrapped his hands around me, trying to keep me as close as possible.
His eyes were still filled with anger, but the softness he was holding for me in his eyes was something he was never able to mask. He wiped out the teardrops from my cheeks with his pad of thumb lightly, but his hand lingered more than required.
