Chapter 24: Mariana's Hate

Mariana Adams' Point of View

I woke up when I felt a hand caressing my cheeks which made me move quickly. I stood beside the bed, pointed the pan on the person only to get astonished seeing Ares coldly looking at me.

My heart says to put down the pan whilst he was approaching, yet my mind was poisoned and relished hurting him using this yet I didn't move.

"Put that down, Mariana," he commanded frigidly.

My sharp glares remained on where he was standing, I was unable to move and couldn't determine whether to back down or not. It is when Ares got my hand, he grabbed the pan I was holding which made me squirm and at the same time, jolted in shock.

"Come here and let's talk," he enunciated, yet I didn't follow him.

I had a grudge against Ares. I wanted to punch him, to slap his face and didn't bother following what he just said.

"Why did you vanish? Are my rules not clear?"

I chuckled sarcastically as my haze drifted away. "I vanished? I didn't leave, Ares! I came out looking pathet
