Chapter 72: I Can't Resist You Anymore

"Don't leave," Ares said in a hoarse voice. He seemed tired whilst the tone of his voice was weary as if he was possessed by a fever.

I pouted my lips and didn't take his hands off me. Instead, Ares pulled my hands and placed me above his lap, hugging me tight while his eyes began to become watery.

"Baby," he muttered in such a soft, yet baritone voice. "Did you eat already? Why are you here?"

I bit my lower lip as I sat down on his lap sturdily. "Why? Don't you like it now that I'm here?" I whispered with a worry in my voice.

He groaned a little as Ares wrapped his hands around my waist. "Of course not… I was just wondering and I've been waiting for you to talk to me."

I held his hand and fixed the way I sat above. "I'm n-not mad!" I spit out. "I w-was just waiting for you also!"

Ares sneered. He was resting his back on the chair as of the moment and then pursued his lower lip. "I don't think so. You're avoiding me for days now and yet you're trying
